Protect Your Pillow with a Protective Covering
Now is the perfect time to ensure your new pillows are protected! Order an organic waterproof protective covering.
Made with two layers of 100% organic cotton knit with a 1mil non-GMO bio-based film sandwiched between the layers.
This cornstarch-derived, biodegradable film makes the protector waterproof and protects against spills, stains, dust mites, and bed bugs, plus it is approved by GOTS and meets the GreenGuard Gold Standard.
These protective pillow covers are handcrafted by a small, domestic manufacturer and made with the finest natural, chemical-free ingredients available.
Kapok is a silk-like fiber that provides a soft yet supportive fluffy feel. It is 8 times lighter than cotton and does not compress as quickly as cotton, wool, or down.
It is hypoallergenic and is naturally water resistant so it wicks moisture for a comfortable, dry sleep. Kapok fiber is a renewable resource that is extracted from the seed pods of the kapok tree, which grows in tropical rain forests. It's grown without the use of pesticides.
We recommend that you protect your bedding with protective pillow covers that can be washed regularly. While not waterproof, the protective covers will keep your pillow dust-mite free and make it less likely that your pillow will get soiled.
If your pillow requires cleaning, you can spot clean it. Mix a solution of 3 parts water and 1 part vinegar and spray on the stain. Expose the pillow to sunlight if possible. Let it thoroughly dry and repeat if necessary. Use a hair dryer if necessary to get the pillow thoroughly dry.
We do not recommend submerging your pillow in water or machine washing because it may damage the natural fibers. Washing machine cycles are different and water chemistry varies. If you are unlucky, you might damage your pillow.
We do not recommend dry cleaning unless you use a certified green dry cleaner.
Whether you are committed to living a totally organic lifestyle, or you are just trying to remove dangerous chemicals from your home, sleeping with a natural pillow can improve your life and health. Hopefully, you have replaced your toxic household cleaners with safer, non-toxic products, and you are filtering your drinking water and interior air.
If you are currently using a pillow made with synthetic materials like polyurethane foam, you could be sleeping with any number of dangerous chemicals like toluene diisocyanate, formaldehyde, PBDE's just to name a few. Toss that old chemical-laden synthetic pillow and start sleeping with a chemical free natural pillow.
Enjoy better, more restful sleep while reducing the toxic load on your body.
